There is not one, but several types of packaging. The trick is to choose the right packaging for each product. That's why we're introducing you to block bottom bags today. With their popular retro look, just like in the old days, they are very often used for food packaging.
What are their characteristics?
They are either completely transparent or have a round window through which you can see the contents of the packaging! The bags have a flat bottom in the shape of a hexagon so that they can stand upright. They can be closed by sealing at the top. This ensures airtight packaging and perfect presentation!
We offer block bottom bags in two versions:
- They are either completely transparent or have a round window that shows the contents of the packaging!
- Or they are either opaque to protect light-sensitive foods.
The advantages of block bottom bags include:
- Environmentally friendly, thanks to recycled and recyclable packaging material
- Space-saving storage of the bags thanks to the folding mechanism
- Aroma protection and food safety of the bottom bags
Which products are block bottom bags suitable for?
You can fill these bags with all sorts of things: Sweets, chocolate, nuts, etc., but of course also with non-food products.

How do you seal this type of packaging properly?
Block bottom bags are easy to fill and there are several options depending on the material they are made of:
- Impulse sealers are suitable packaging machines for block bottom bags made from OPP.
- There are also adhesive pads that are stuck to the back of the bag.
- Above all, however, closure strips (also known as clips) have a very practical function when closing kraft and plastic bags.
How do you choose the right length of closure clips?
Determine the length of the closure clips based on the width of your bag. From the small 33 mm clip tape closure to the 180 mm wide XXL clip, you can take a look at our range of U-clips and clip tapes.
Please also note that the closure strips can be used several times. They are made of paper and reinforced with thin wire. As paper and metal can be separated from each other, these closure strips are recyclable.
