The ziplock bag is a type of plastic bag that is closed with a zipper. It is often used for packing items. The "ZIP" part comes from the zipper's ability to seal the bag quickly and easily with an unmistakable sound.
Zipper bags are used in many industries. It has to be said that a zip bag is particularly practical. For this reason, ziplock bags are used extensively in the automotive, food and medical industries.

Is a ziplock bag hermetic and waterproof?
Yes, they can be hermetically sealed, so they are ideal for protecting products from water or moisture. But most zip bags are made of polyethylene, which is not 100% airtight. Polyethylene has a water vapor permeability of about 1.0 to 1.5, which means that air will slowly escape over time, just like a balloon loses air after a few days. For most applications this is not a problem, but if it absolutely has to be waterproof, you should look for a product with this manufacturer's specification.

Can you reuse zip bags?
They are very durable and can in fact be reused many times.
In addition, plastic bags made of LDPE (low density polyethylene) are recyclable. The recycling process of LDPE begins with the collection of plastic waste. Consumers are encouraged to throw their waste into the designated containers or garbage cans for waste separation. The LDPE packaging is then transported to the recycling center where it is sorted and separated from other types of plastic.
